The AIA Internship Programme is designed to help you acquire invaluable industry knowledge and build your financial and management skillsets under the mentorship of experienced professionals.

Training and networking
The programme will include structured training that offers you the opportunity to obtain professional certifications upon completion of regulatory CMFAS exams for financial advisory.
You can also get to network with top industry leaders and members of AIA's Executive Committee, who's sharing will help you gain a holistic understanding of the life insurance industry, and the role AIA plays in it.
In addition, don't miss the opportunity to experience the unique AIA culture of believing in better by participating in various projects, AIA Vitality and community engagement activities.

Being involved in the insurance business has never crossed my mind. I thought I would be a teacher!
I was actually recommended this career by a friend. To be honest, it was the money that first attracted me. I was giving tuition at that time and even though I was still studying as an undergraduate, I was always thinking of ways to earn money! (laughs) Becoming a Financial Services Consultant (FSC) was a financially appealing idea to me.
To date, I’ve been in this line for 25 years. Given the time I’ve spent. I have achieved quite a fair bit of recognition. For example, I’m a member of the Million Dollar Club(MDC), Premier Agent Club and 1st Runner-Up for New Financial Service Unit Manager. I’m also a qualifier for overseas conventions to Paris, Sydney, Barcelona, New York etc. These are the perks of this career which recognises effort and also offers a high potential income.
What I like most about this career is the time-flexibility. Mainly because this means that your efforts are equivalent to your rewards. Not everyone has the discipline to manage their time fruitfully, so It is the hard work that reaps the benefits of this flexibility. I've always been a driven and determined person so this concept appealed very much to me. In addition. I've always come to realise that this is a noble career where I’m helping others to secure their financial future.
I look for Financial Services Consultants (FSCs) who are responsible, patient, kind-hearted and self-motivated. Integrity is also an important factor. While the money is good, we should never get too greedy and ambitious. Being ethical is very important to me and I wish to see that in my agents as well. Even though I wanted to be a teacher initially, I wouldn’t choose that career path now. Being in this line has enabled me to help others as well. It is an extremely rewarding career.
Furthermore, we get paid to have fun! (chuckles) Like when we meet our clients to party or just for coffee, we’re working, but it’s an enjoyable kind of work.
There are those who are “anti-insurance”, probably because of bad experiences. I try to understand why some people are reluctant to talk to me but at the end of the day, I think it is their loss for not planning ahead.
This has truly been a wonderful experience for me and I hope that others will join me and discover it for themselves!
In my first year of university, I realized the importance of having a competitive advantage through internship experience. This prompted me to join AIA.
I like the AIA culture. My colleagues are warm and helpful. My managers are very supportive and provided personal coaching and training to build up my confidence.
